Stick, unitised and structural glazing curtain walling
Stick curtain walling such as Aluprof MB-SR50N or Procural PF152 is assembled on site from mullions and transoms. It suits most commercial buildings, handles irregular geometry well and keeps element logistics simple.
Unitised curtain walling such as Aluprof MB-SE65 or Procural PF173 arrives on site as factory-assembled elements. It shortens installation time on high-rise and repetitive facades and moves most quality control into the factory.
Structural and semi-structural systems such as MB-MT50N, MB-SR50N EFEKT and PF152ESG give a flush glass surface with minimal visible aluminium, for buildings where the facade is the architectural statement.
Thermal performance, weather tightness and security
The Procural PF152 family reaches Ucw 0.62 W/(m²K), with PF152HI certified for Passivhaus. Aluprof MB-SR50N HI+ reaches Uf from 0.59 W/(m²K). Air tightness up to AE 1200 is available in the MB-SR50N family, and PF152 variants can be specified with RC2/RC3 burglar resistance.
Variants with integrated sun shading (MB-SR50N ZS) and photovoltaic glass (MB-SR50N PV) let the facade carry solar control and energy generation without separate structures.
Fire rated curtain walling (EI30–EI60)
Where the fire strategy requires it, glass facades can be fire rated. Procural PF152EI and PF152ESG EI are available in EI30 and EI60, and Aluprof MB-SR50N EI in EI30 and EI60. Curtain walling FAQ
What is curtain walling?
Curtain walling is a non-load-bearing outer wall, usually aluminium framing with glass or panels, hung from the building structure. It carries its own weight and wind loads and transfers them to the floor slabs or frame.
What is the difference between stick and unitised curtain walling?
Stick systems are assembled on site from individual mullions, transoms and glass. Unitised systems arrive as factory-assembled, glazed elements that are lifted into place, which speeds up installation on large and tall facades.
How much does curtain walling cost per m²?
The price depends on the system type, glass build-up, element sizes, fire or security requirements, finish, quantity and site conditions. Send us drawings or a specification and we will return a quote within 1–2 working days.
Is structural glazing the same as curtain walling?
Structural glazing is a type of curtain walling in which the glass is bonded to the frame so that little or no aluminium is visible from outside. Semi-structural systems such as MB-SR50N EFEKT sit between classic stick systems and fully structural facades.
Do you supply fire rated curtain walling?
Yes. Procural PF152EI and PF152ESG EI and Aluprof MB-SR50N EI are available in EI30 and EI60, and fire-rated glazed roofs are available in REI 30 / RE 45.
