Aluminium windows FAQ
What is the difference between slimline and standard aluminium windows?
Slimline windows use narrower frame and sash profiles, so more of the opening is glass. Systems such as MB-SLIMLINE and MB-79N CSF keep the sightlines slim while still using a thermal break for good insulation.
Which aluminium windows meet Passive House requirements?
Aluprof MB-104 PASSIVE is certified by the Passive House Institute with Uw from 0.53 W/(m²K), and Schüco AWS 90.SI+ and AWS 120 CC.SI are Passive House certified. Procural PE96HI reaches Uw 0.66 W/(m²K) with triple glazing.
What do RC2, RC3 and RC4 mean?
They are burglar resistance classes under EN 1627. The higher the class, the longer the window resists a break-in attempt with more powerful tools. RC2 is common for accessible ground-floor windows, while RC3 and RC4 are used for higher-risk buildings.
