Opening fire rated windows
Procural PE78EI EI30 TT is a tilt-turn fire rated window up to 1380 × 2760 mm and 200 kg per sash, with sound insulation up to Rw 45 dB. Schüco AWS 70 FR 30 is a 70 mm EI30/EW30 window with CE marking to EN 16034, self-closing locking and watertightness class 9A.
Fixed fire rated windows and external walls
The fixed Procural PE78EI EI30 window reaches Uw 0.9 W/(m²K) with a 78 mm frame and sizes up to 1300 × 2500 mm. Aluprof MB-86N EI provides EI30 windows with Uw from 0.86 W/(m²K), so fire rated windows can meet the same energy targets as the rest of the facade.

For slim steel sightlines, Jansen Economy 50 windows are available in steel and stainless steel, for heritage buildings and projects where the architect specifies steel.

Yes. Procural PE78EI EI30 TT and Schüco AWS 70 FR 30 are opening fire rated windows. They close and lock automatically or are kept closed in a fire, depending on the system and the building's fire strategy.
When do I need a fire rated window?
Typically when the window is close to a site boundary or another building, next to an escape stair, or in a wall between fire compartments. The exact requirement follows the national building rules and the fire strategy.
What is the difference between a 30 minute and a 60 minute fire rated window?
The number is the time in minutes that the window keeps its integrity (E) and insulation (I) in a standard fire test to EN 1364-1, classified to EN 13501-2.
