Fire rated aluminium glazed doors for commercial buildings
Glazed fire doors from EI30 to EI90 for offices, schools, hospitals, stairwells and escape routes. Single and double leaf, swing or automatic sliding, fabricated and glazed in our factory in Liepāja.
A fire rated glazed door has to do two jobs at once: stop fire and heat for the rated time, and still work as a busy entrance or corridor door every day. We fabricate glazed fire doors in aluminium and steel systems from Schüco, Aluprof and Procural, together with the fire rated screens and fanlights around them, so the whole opening is tested and classified as one system.

Fire classes: EI30, EI60, EI90 and smoke control
Fire resistance is classified to EN 13501-2. E means integrity, I means thermal insulation, and the number is the time in minutes. An EI30 door keeps flames, hot gases and heat on the fire side for 30 minutes; EI60 and EI90 double and triple that. Many projects also require smoke control class Sa or S200, which limits smoke leakage around the closed door.
External fire doors are CE marked under EN 16034 together with EN 14351-1, so the same door can meet both the fire and the weather requirements of a facade.
Aluminium fire doors: Schüco ADS FR and Aluprof MB-78EI
Schüco ADS 80 FR 30 is an 80 mm aluminium EI30/EW30 door for inside and outside, with leaves up to 280 kg, RC3 burglar resistance and 1,000,000 test cycles to EN 12400. Schüco FireStop ADS 90 FR 30 and FR 90 cover larger openings, with leaves up to 350 kg and clear openings up to 3022 × 3100 mm.
Aluprof MB-78EI combines single and double leaf doors with fire rated partitions from EI15 to EI90 and sound insulation up to 41 dB. Procural PE78EI doors are available in EI30, EI60 and EI90 with smoke control class Sa/S200, and the MB-86N EI system adds thermally insulated EI30 windows and EI60 doors for external walls.
Steel fire doors with slim profiles: Schüco Janisol
Where the architect wants very slim sightlines or high mechanical strength, Schüco Janisol steel systems are the alternative. Janisol 2 EI30 doors reach heights up to 4500 mm with RC3 burglar resistance, and Janisol C4 covers EI60 and EI90 with leaves up to 350 kg.
Automatic fire rated sliding doors
In entrances and circulation areas where doors stand open all day, Aluprof MB-78EI DPA automatic sliding doors open without touch in daily use and close automatically in a fire, with fire resistance EI15 or EI30.
From door schedule to delivery
We check each opening against the fire strategy, choose the system and glass build-up, and prepare shop drawings for approval. Doors are fabricated, glazed and fitted with hardware in Liepāja, then delivered to site with the classification documents your fire engineer and building control need.

Fire rated glazed doors: common questions
Can a fire door be fully glazed?
Yes. Fire rated glazed doors use tested fire resistant glass in a tested frame system, so large glass areas are possible up to EI90. The glass size, build-up and frame must match the tested configuration of the system.
What is the difference between EI and EW fire rated doors?
EI doors limit both flames and heat transfer (insulation). EW doors limit flames and radiation but not heat transfer, so they are used where the rules allow lower performance. Escape routes and compartment walls usually require EI.
Are aluminium fire doors as safe as steel fire doors?
Yes, when the complete door is tested and classified. Aluminium fire doors reach EI30 to EI90 with insulating inserts in the profiles; steel systems such as Janisol are chosen mainly for slimmer profiles or higher mechanical strength.
