Schüco CTB Concealed External Blind
Micro-louvre sun shading concealed in the curtain wall
Schüco CTB (Concealed Toughened Blind) is an external sun shading system with extruded aluminium micro louvre blades that retract out of sight into the profiles of the Schüco FWS 50 or FWS 60 curtain wall. It keeps the facade visually uniform while still allowing views out through the lowered blind. A single unit can be 650–3000 mm wide and 1000–4000 mm high, up to 9 m² in area. The system withstands wind speeds up to 30 m/s, so it can be used on tall buildings. According to Schüco, less than 2% of solar energy reaches the room at a 50° summer sun angle, reducing cooling costs. The 230 V drive is controlled via KNX with automatic and timer functions, and the blades are anodised.
